From 29 July 2025, new Queensland Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation will require mandatory audiometric testing for workers exposed to hazardous noise levels in the workplace.
This significant regulatory change affects all Queensland businesses where workers are exposed to noise levels at or above the exposure standard. The legislation aims to prevent occupational hearing loss and ensure early detection of hearing damage.
Key requirements include baseline audiometric testing within 3 months of commencing work, regular monitoring assessments, and comprehensive record keeping to demonstrate compliance.
