Peak Hearing

Privacy policy

Last updated 7 September 2026.

Who we are

Peak Hearing is an independent audiology clinic owned and run by Dr Alison Collins, PhD. We see patients at four clinics: Andergrove in Mackay, Walkerston, Moranbah and Clermont. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Peak Hearing, and “this site” means peakhearing.com.au.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Those principles apply to us because we are a health service provider, whatever our size.

What we collect and why

The enquiry form

When you fill in the enquiry form on this site we collect your name, email address, contact number and your message. That information is stored in our booking database and emailed to the clinic so that someone can reply to you. We use it to answer your enquiry and to organise an appointment. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list.

Online bookings

“Book Today” opens our separate online booking application. Anything you enter there is handled by that application rather than by this website, and is used to make and manage your appointment.

Phone and email

If you call 1300 145 223 or email us, we keep a record of what was discussed where we need it to arrange or provide your care.

Analytics and marketing measurement

If — and only if — you accept, we load Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel through Google Tag Manager. We use them to count how many people call, book or send an enquiry, and which pages they came from, so that we can see what is useful and what is not. They use cookies and they send information, including your IP address, to Google and to Meta, who process it overseas. We do not use them to look at individual patients, and no clinical information is ever sent to them.

Your clinical records

Anything recorded during an appointment — hearing test results, clinical notes, hearing aid details — is part of your clinical record. It is kept in our clinical systems, not on this website, and it is covered by health records law and our professional obligations.

Cookies and how to change your choice

No analytics or marketing tags run before you choose. Until you accept, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation switched off, so Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel do not set cookies or send us measurement data.

If you make a choice, we remember it in your browser’s local storage under the name ph-consent so we do not ask again on every page. That is stored on your device and is never sent to us. You can change your mind at any time:

Clearing cookies and site data in your browser clears the choice as well, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

How long we keep enquiries

We keep enquiries sent through this site for as long as we need them to answer your question and to keep a record of what was said. Where an enquiry becomes part of your clinical record, the longer retention periods that apply to health records apply to it too. If you would like an enquiry deleted, email us and we will remove it unless we are required to keep it.

Access, corrections and complaints

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
